How should you manage Amazon compliance requests?
Treat every dashboard request as a controlled ASIN-level task with an owner, due date, evidence requirement, submission record, and verified outcome. Amazon's Manage Your Compliance dashboard can centralize product-safety and regulatory requests, but it does not replace the seller's responsibility to keep evidence accurate, current, and matched to the product.
Start by reconciling the dashboard with your full catalog. Missing an ASIN because a request was assigned to the wrong team or buried in a bulk file can be more damaging than submitting one document slowly but correctly.
Create the compliance control register
- Record marketplace, ASIN, SKU, brand, product, request type, current status, Amazon deadline, at-risk sales or inventory, and internal priority.
- Specify every required document, test, certification, label image, declaration, responsible-person detail, and product attribute shown in the live request.
- Link each file to the exact model, variation, manufacturer, facility, lot or date range, language, jurisdiction, issuer, issue date, and expiry date.
- Assign a preparer, technical reviewer, authorized approver, submission owner, and backup for deadline coverage.
- Track the uploaded filename, submission timestamp, dashboard confirmation, case ID, decision, rejection reason, appeal deadline, and final verified status.
Validate evidence before upload
Compare the listing, product sample, packaging, labels, manuals, invoices, and technical evidence. Names and model numbers must connect clearly; a certificate for a related product is not evidence for the requested ASIN unless its scope explicitly covers it. Confirm that the laboratory, certification body, issuer, and test standard meet the current requirement.
For bulk submissions, validate a small cohort before scaling. Preserve the downloaded request file, the completed upload file, row-level result, and document version so an error can be isolated without resubmitting the entire catalog.
Work the queue by risk and deadline
- Prioritize imminent deadlines, suppressed or high-risk listings, safety issues, and requests affecting material inventory or sales.
- Group only requests that share the same product evidence and requirement; do not reuse a document merely because the products have similar names.
- Review dashboard status after upload and investigate pending, rejected, or partially accepted rows instead of assuming the file was processed.
- Use the stated appeal or support workflow with a concise gap analysis and corrected evidence when a decision is wrong or incomplete.
- Notify inventory, advertising, sales, and customer-service owners when availability, claims, or shipment plans must change.
Stop when product identity or scope is uncertain
Do not upload altered, expired, incomplete, or unrelated evidence; do not edit technical documents to make identifiers match; and do not keep selling through a material safety uncertainty while waiting for a dashboard update. Escalate to the manufacturer, qualified laboratory, compliance professional, or Amazon workflow appropriate to the risk.
Required documents, accepted standards, deadlines, bulk-upload formats, dashboard paths, appeals, and marketplace rules can change. Use the live request and current Amazon guidance as the authority, and revalidate evidence after product, supplier, formula, packaging, or regulatory changes.
