Compare Amazon SEND Freight Before Booking an FBA Shipment

Compare routes, quote scope, customs, pickup, cash timing, and landed cost before choosing Seller Export & Delivery for FBA or AWD inventory.

When should an Amazon seller use SEND?

Use Amazon Seller Export & Delivery when the live program supports your origin, destination, and receiving network, and its complete landed-cost and timing scenario is better than a comparable alternative. Compare the same pickup terms, freight mode, customs scope, destination charges, insurance, and delivery point before deciding.

Amazon currently describes SEND as an air-and-ocean shipping option from selected countries to FBA or Amazon Warehousing and Distribution. Booking, pickup, payment, customs handling, and tracking can be coordinated in Seller Central, but route availability and charges must be confirmed for the specific shipment.

Build a like-for-like freight comparison

  • Origin warehouse, destination network, freight mode, cargo-ready date, cartons or pallets, dimensions, weight, and product restrictions.
  • Pickup, export handling, documentation, freight, fuel, security, customs brokerage, duty, tax, destination handling, and final delivery.
  • Quoted transit range, cutoff, pickup window, cancellation terms, tracking milestones, and delay responsibility.
  • Insurance or cargo protection, claim limits, evidence requirements, exclusions, and deductible.
  • Payment currency, booking charge timing, later duty charge, exchange-rate exposure, and reconciliation owner.

Prepare customs and shipment evidence

Confirm the importer of record, product classification, commercial invoice, values, origin, licenses, and any regulated-product documents before booking. A carrier-facilitated customs process does not transfer the seller's responsibility for accurate product and trade information.

Keep the booking confirmation, charge estimate, carton or pallet record, labels, pickup proof, customs documents, tracking history, receiving record, and final statement under one shipment ID. This evidence supports cost reconciliation and any delay, loss, or damage review.

Use a pre-booking decision checklist

  • Verify the live SEND lane and eligibility for the seller account, product, FBA or AWD destination, and shipment date.
  • Reconcile quoted and potentially variable charges to a per-unit landed-cost scenario.
  • Stress-test a later pickup, longer transit, customs delay, duty adjustment, and receiving delay.
  • Confirm inventory cover and a replenishment fallback before choosing a slower mode.
  • Set booking, document, tracking, exception, and statement-reconciliation owners.

Know when a different freight option is safer

Use another provider when SEND does not support the lane or cargo, required services are outside the quote, the customs structure is unsuitable, or the operating team cannot meet documentation and pickup requirements. A lower visible freight price is not a saving if omitted charges, timing, or inventory risk makes the landed result worse.

Routes, carriers, services, billing labels, cancellation windows, and charges can change. Verify the current SEND page, Seller Central booking, carrier terms, and customs obligations for every shipment rather than reusing an old quote or workflow.
