What should you verify before using a Small Business badge?
Verify that the business meets the current program requirements, the correct brand and ASINs are associated with the account, and the badge is visible on the intended customer-facing pages. Use the badge only for products and marketplaces where Amazon currently displays it.
Eligibility, enrollment, evidence, badge placement, and product coverage can change. Amazon's official Small Business badge guidance describes the badge as a way to help qualifying products stand out, but the live account and marketplace rules control. Do not copy a badge or eligibility claim from another seller, country, or prior approval.
Build an eligibility evidence file
- Record the legal business, selling account, brand, trademark or ownership role, marketplace, and responsible contact.
- List every intended ASIN, variation relationship, seller SKU, product type, and current badge status.
- Retain the current eligibility confirmation and the evidence submitted through the authorized workflow.
- Separate products made by the business from unrelated resale, licensed, distributed, or co-branded inventory.
- Set a review date for ownership, company size, catalog, and program-rule changes.
Audit catalog and display accuracy
Check parent and child ASINs individually because eligibility or display may not follow the relationship as expected. Confirm that the brand name, manufacturer, product identity, seller role, and variation structure are accurate before escalating a missing badge.
Capture the customer-facing page, marketplace, seller offer, date, and device when documenting display. A badge shown on one ASIN, offer, or location is not proof that every related product is approved.
Control customer-facing claims
- Use Amazon's displayed badge or approved wording without changing its meaning.
- Do not imply certification, product quality, local manufacturing, minority ownership, sustainability, or endorsement unless separately verified.
- Remove campaign assets when the badge disappears, eligibility changes, or the promoted ASIN is replaced.
- Keep advertising, Brand Store, social, packaging, and sales-team claims aligned with the current badge status.
- Route questions about eligibility evidence to one owner instead of submitting inconsistent requests.
Handle missing badges and exceptions
If an eligible product does not display the badge, first verify account, brand, ASIN, variation, and marketplace mapping, then use the current support path with a concise evidence file. Avoid repeated catalog edits that could create a larger listing problem.
Do not promote the badge while eligibility is pending, unclear, or limited to another marketplace. Treat mergers, ownership changes, new brands, reseller offers, and mixed-brand bundles as separate review events.
